Meet the Man Behind the Menu
Andrew Gass is the artistic force behind Barcelona Tavern and an inspired Chef that brings more than 20 years of experience to the table.
Born and raised in Ontario, Gass has spent most of his life in restaurant kitchens. His passion and creativity has fuelled his skill, taking him from line cook to Executive Chef, all before the age of 20. He’s inventive. He’s curious. He plays by his own rules. He knows what works and is always looking for new ways to bring those possibilities together.
Gass is passionate about supporting local growers, ranchers, and farms, sourcing everything down to micro greens and honey from local producers. Everything on the Barcelona menu is made in-house from scratch with recipes and techniques that Andrew has perfected over a lifetime of work.
Chef Gass is the lifeblood of Barcelona – a true gentleman, a natural leader, a talented professional, husband, father, and an all-around great guy. His creativity in the kitchen is only surpassed by his skill and his unwavering commitment to quality. Gass brings quiet enthusiasm to the restaurant every day and continually expands Barcelona’s menu with new ideas that delight our guests and inspire our entire team.
